Do you recharge yourself as much as you recharge your phone?

Do you recharge yourself as much as you recharge your phone?

We often feel anxiety when our phones, tablets, and devices run low on battery, until we can plug them in to recharge. But do we recharge ourselves in the same way? Our mind, body, and spirit also regularly need renewal.

Just as you remember to put your phone in its charger regularly, take time daily to relax your mind and body. Meditate, take a bath, or read uplifting books. At bedtime, avoid using your devices and find an offline activity that eases you into restful sleep.

Schedule weekly activities that energize you, like getting a massage, hiking in nature, exercising, playing sports or making art.

Book yourself a monthly morning or afternoon where you turn off digital distractions and replenish through self-care – cook a nourishing meal, write in a journal, nap, get lost in a good book.

And plan regular yearly vacations where you can completely unplug from responsibilities and immerse yourself in relaxation – whether at a beach, a cabin in the woods, or just a staycation at home.

Make recharging yourself as much of a habit as recharging your devices. Set reminders if needed. Protect this time to focus on renewal activities you enjoy rather than running on empty.

You will be far more productive and fulfilled when you take time regularly to nourish your mind, body, and spirit. Prioritize your health. You deserve to recharge your own batteries too!
